December 21, 2025

READING PERIODS

  • WINTER
January 15-31, 2025 (Response by April)
  • SUMMER
July 15-31, 2025 (Response by October)
  • Poem of the Month submissions will open the first seven days of every month and will remain fully free. We’ll announce the new theme for each month a few days before.

BREAKS

  • Running ONLY POEMS is a labor of love, but like, that labor part is really REAL. So, we’ve decided to give ourselves some rest as well. Annually, we’ll take some time off in:
  • WINTER
    December 23 - January 6
  • SUMMER
    June 30 - July 14
  • In this time, you’ll hear from us much less and our website and socials will be infrequently updated, but rest assured we’re just catching our breath and getting ready to bring you an even better lit mag/poetry experience!

MONEY

  • We’re SO happy to share that we’re going to *drummmrollll pleeasee* increase payments to poets!

Poet of the Week submissions accepted after January 15th, will be paid $77 (up from our current $55). Next goal: $111

Poem of the Month submissions accepted from January onwards will be paid $33 (up from our current $22). Next goal: $55
  • Our $3600 Poet of the Year prize is becoming the $5000 Poet of the Year Prize! Winner will receive $3000 and four finalists will each get $500. The prize opens up for submissions again March 1st, 2025

SOME LOVE?

  • If you'd like to help us meet our next goals, please consider contributing — we have a matching donor!
  • Any money you contribute to the magazine will be doubled!
  • You can do this by taking out a membership or via our  Buy Me A Coffee page.
